Fast & Furious 6: The Most Underrated of the Fast Saga? 15:55
Fast & Furious 6: The Most Underrated of the Fast Saga?
When Fast Five came out in the summer of 2011, it was a smash hit. While people expected the franchise to do well, no one thought that the film would be so big that it would turn what had, up to then, been a series of glorified B-movies into the next major tentpole franchise. To capitalize on the film’s success, Fast & Furious 6 (whose on-screen title is simply Furious 6) was immediately put into production. In fact, director Justin Lin and star Vin Diesel had already planned out an epic conclusion for what they hoped would be the next film before Fast Five ever came out. With their sequel now a reality, Lin and his crew opted to make this an even bigger film than its predecessor, with their home studio, Universal, now granting them the kind of tentpole movie budgets reserved for the 007 and Mission: Impossible Franchises, as Fast Five had been an international smash as well as a domestic one. In the end, Fast & Furious 6 would be an even bigger hit that Fast Five, despite opening against The Hangover - Part III, a movie that many thought would crush the Fast Family. The reverse was true, with Fast & Furious 6 more than doubling that film’s box office take, both at home at internationally. Yet, in the ten years since it hit theaters, people seem to have forgotten just how big of a film it was, with it being overshadowed by the next movie, Furious 7, which stands as the franchise’s biggest hit to date. If people remember Fast & Furious 6 now, it’s mainly for the epic (and gloriously silly) runway chase, and Jason Statham’s cameo in the post-credits sequence. Yet, it remains an important addition to the franchise, with it being the last film Paul Walker completed, while also marking the “death” of Gal Gadot’s Gisele and the return of Michelle Rodriguez as Letty. In this instalment of Revisited, which is written by Cody Hamman, edited by Juan Jimenez and voice by Travis Hopson. Do you think Fast & Furious 6 holds up? Let us know in the comments! Classic Childhood Tv Horror To Watch This Halloween 35:37
Classic Childhood Tv Horror To Watch This Halloween
Are You Afraid of the Dark started out as Scary Tales, a pitch from DJ MacHale and Ned Kandel. Originally the network passed on the pitch saying, “You can’t scare kids. It’s not going to fly.” When they left, MacHale left behind a 3-page treatment of what the series was going to be. Join us as we look back fondly at this awesome series! The one anthology series I thought would get a little more hype is 1988's Monsters. Well, guess what? I think it deserves more than a mere mention in Horror history. So let's take a trip to the late 80s and remember Monsters. If you haven't seen this yet, and you are a fan of anthology horror, please check this one out. You know what? We should just blow this up as a beacon for our love of the show. Alright, I'm getting carried away. Until next time, don't forget the candied critters, my creepy companions! I think 1991 shaped my life before I even realized it did. Aeon Flux, Pete & And; Pete, Clarissa Explains It All, and of course, Eerie, Indiana. There was something cool about these shows made for kids and teens around this time– they weren't dumbing it down. Kids felt like they were watching something they could experience for themselves– it felt real. These were kids that were actually my age, tackling real issues through a more fantastical storyline. So today, we delve into one of the best, if not brief, series with Eerie, Indiana! 00:00:00 - Eerie Indiana 00:11:27 - Are You Afraid Of The Dark 00:24:44 - Monsters SERIES SYNOPSIS: Horror TV Shows We Miss takes nostalgic look back the genre series that marked us while growing up and that helped shape our love of horror today.
