When Wishmaster came out in 1997, it did well enough to triple its budget and create a new cult horror icon in the form of The Djinn. Not to mention the movie itself was sort of the proto-Expendables of horror, starring such legends as Tony Todd, Kane, Hodder, Reggie Bannister, Robert Englund, and many more. Wishmaster was a fun flick that did surprisingly well, all tied around the tremendous and maniacal performance by Andrew Divoff.

Two years later, we got a sequel, Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies, that ended up being a direct-to-video entry that debuted on HBO before hitting DVD. Now, yes, compared to the first, it is a step down in quality, yet what director Jack Sholder wisely did in Wishmaster 2 was give Divoff more screentime while upping the ante with the gory antics of the sly Djinn. We over at Arrow In The Head believe Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies didn't get a fair shake and are here to correct that. So for this episode of The Black Sheep, pour yourself a cold one, sit back and enjoy Divoff in all of his glory. We promise that it's a far better time than you remember.
