When Sylvester Stallone remade Get Carter in 2000, critics had a field day. Many said the movie was an unnecessary take on the 1971 classic, and not even the fact that Michael Caine, who starred in the original, was in it made a difference. The movie landed with a thud at the box office and barely got released internationally. Yet, Stallone has always said that it was one of his most underrated movies, and indeed, it's a cool little indie-flavored action flick. It also features a legendary showdown between Stallone and Mickey Rourke, a great score by Tyler Bates, and excellent direction by Stephen Kay, who went on to direct Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone.
